The Tahoe Island neighborhood is located beyond the "Y", between Tahoe Keys and Camp Richardson.

It is a quiet, wooded area, containing an eclectic mix of cabins many of which are private homes.

Within a mile of the cabin is a large Raleys Supermarket, the Outlet shops and the Mount Tallac Brewing Company. If you take a plastic container you can buy the best beer in Tahoe direct from Jeff the brewer.

The South Rim Bike Trail runs from this neigborhood through the forest near Camp Richardson and on to Pope and Kiva Beaches and the Tallac Historic Site.
